We just love to tinker with play with file metadata! Some of our endeavors turn out too be wild for products, others emerge from the rubble source code and may delight our customers. You've come to the right place if you got too much time are curious about our research and development efforts. This part of our site is the home of all things "very technical": early betas, the MetaMind Framework or details on our Scavenger API and its plug-ins.
Your first stop for more information is the Metability Wiki. It contains up-to-date details about FileMind and the MMF. Become a FileMind Beta tester (its free!) and gain access to even more TechDocs pages.

Our big project is the MetaMindFramework (in short: MMF). The MMF is a semantic abstraction layer that radically simplifies how metadata information is presented to the human eye. The framework takes raw file metadata and transforms them into smart Information Elements. Applications can access the MMF either via Web Service or .NET remoting API. Its modular architecture takes care of data persistence, validation, transformations, consolidation, etc. Its configuration and data architecture is entirely XML-based. It features a highly flexible metadata ontology schema with literally endless usage scenarios.
